Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) is a volunteer program committed to assisting the Oakland Police Department in enhancing community safety by uniting our SVP volunteers and police department staff to accomplish the following:
- Check the welfare of Oakland senior citizens
- Check the welfare of medically/physically disabled persons
- Perform vacation checks on homes
- Act as a liaison with businesses located in the Oakland city limits
- Assist with any other specific concerns of the citizens of Oakland
- Assist with special events held by the city of Oakland
