Fire Chief Stephen Walls brings over 50 years of experience in Fire and EMS to the Oakland Fire Department as he leads our firefighters in their mission to save lives and protect property. Beginning his career in a small town in Kentucky, Chief Walls would go on to a career at the Memphis Fire Department where he served in Special Operations as well as with Tennessee Task Force One as a founding member. He has served as the Oakland Fire Chief since 2014. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a minor Physics as well as numerous certifications including Hazardous Materials Specialist, Paramedic, FEMA Medical Specialist Instructor, and TARS Advanced Extrication Instructor.
