Ed Courton serves as the Planning & Community Development Director for the Town of Oakland and brings more than 23 years of professional planning and community development experience in both municipal and county government. He is responsible for administering all planning and zoning functions for the Town, including long-range planning, zoning and subdivision administration, development review, floodplain administration, ordinance development, annexations, and infrastructure coordination. Mr. Courton serves as staff liaison to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Planning Commission, Design Review Commission, and Board of Zoning Appeals, and regularly provides presentations and technical guidance on complex land use and development issues.
