New Water Leak Relief Program Coming July 1, 2026
The Town of Oakland is excited to introduce a new Water Leak Relief Program designed to protect our residents and businesses from unexpectedly high water bills caused by qualifying leaks. Beginning July 1, 2026, all customers will automatically be enrolled in this optional program, giving you added peace of mind when the unexpected happens.
For a small monthly fee, (only $2.50 for residentials) participants are eligible for up to two claims per year, with coverage up to $2,000 per qualifying leak. In simple terms—if a hidden leak causes your water bill to spike, this program helps cover the difference, keeping those costs from falling entirely on you. It’s a proactive way to safeguard your household or business budget from surprise expenses.
Customers will also have the option to enhance their protection with additional Water Line and Sewer Line Relief coverage, which can provide up to $10,000 in repairs for qualifying line breaks. While participation is automatic, opting out is as easy as a single phone call to the number below. However, customers who choose not to participate will be responsible for the full cost of any leak-related charges.
